1:1 MS Coaching

You don’t need another person giving you a hundred things you “should” be doing for MS. You need a realistic plan for your actual life, with somebody who understands MS helping you follow through.

Start with the $150 MS Strategy Session and leave with Your Next 30 Days: a written plan with your priorities, specific actions, what to track, and questions to take back to your healthcare team.

Mahad Ali discussing 1:1 MS Coaching

Your coach

Mahad Ali, PT, MScPT — Licensed physical therapist in Virginia. I have a background in nutrition and a clinical focus in MS and neurological rehabilitation. I also live with MS. My approach is professional and evidence-informed, grounded in the perspective of actually living it.

What we can work on

One coaching relationship, not separate programs. The topics change as your life changes.

  • Move consistently

Staying active when heat wipes you out, or foot drop and fear of falling make walking feel risky. We build a realistic weekly routine around your body as it is — with habits, planning, and accountability that help you restart after a bad day instead of giving up.

  • Manage energy & fatigue

Energy budgeting for work, family, and the things you actually want to do. Pacing that holds up after bad days and relapses, with heat planned in rather than ruining everything.

  • Eat & sleep better

Simple eating habits that survive low-energy days, and sleep routines that respect MS fatigue instead of fighting it.

  • Navigate healthcare

Walk into your next neurologist appointment with real questions prepared and your concerns organized, so the fifteen minutes actually count.

  • Mindset & identity

The frustration of a body that won’t cooperate, adjusting to life after diagnosis, and not letting MS run your identity. Practical and grounded in lived experience — not therapy.

  • Work, travel & real life

Real plans for workdays, trips, and social life that budget your energy honestly — including backup plans for when symptoms crash the schedule.

The heart of it: you probably already know what you should do. Coaching asks what you’re actually going to do this week and how we make sure it happens.

How it works

1. Free discovery call

15 minutes, $0. Phone or video, your choice. You tell me what you want help following through on right now. I explain how coaching works, and we decide together if it’s the right fit. This is not a free coaching session. If you actually need PT, medical care, or mental-health support instead, I’ll tell you.

  • Coaching-related messages answered within one business day on weekdays

Async check-ins are short exchanges, not additional sessions, and messaging is not unlimited. Coaching is guidance and accountability. It does not cover medical emergencies, diagnosis, medication advice, or physical therapy treatment.

Coaching vs. physical therapy

Two different kinds of support. Knowing which is which keeps expectations clear.

1:1 MS Coaching

  • Behavior change, habits, accountability
  • Goal setting, routines, follow-through
  • General exercise and health education
  • Appointment prep and self-advocacy

Physical therapy

  • Clinical evaluation and treatment
  • Gait, weakness, balance, foot drop, spasticity, pain
  • Individualized therapeutic exercise prescription
  • Diagnosis and clinical decision-making

If you need clinical evaluation or treatment of an impairment, that belongs under physical therapy, not coaching.

Boundaries

Who coaching is not for

People in an acute MS relapse who need medical care; anyone needing psychotherapy or mental-health treatment; anyone looking for a diagnosis or medical advice. If that’s you, the discovery call will point you toward the right professional.

1:1 MS Coaching is a non-clinical wellness and educational service. It does not diagnose or treat MS symptoms, prescribe rehabilitation, provide physical therapy, provide medical nutrition therapy, or replace care from licensed healthcare professionals.
